Blues Festival Basel
The Blues Festival Basel, which takes place annually in the spring, will take place in March this year, and for the first time at the Atlantis! From March 18-21, you can immerse yourself in the unique atmosphere of the legendary Atlantis, with standing room on the ground floor and balcony area that will allow you to move and groove to the music. Bar service throughout the evenings will allow you to fully enjoy the international stars and top-class Swiss acts on stage!
For this 24th edition, the festival starts on Wednesday with the traditional Promo Blues Night, where up-and-coming musicians—three acts selected by an international jury of experts—will compete against each other with a 30-minute set each, for the opportunity to perform in the official program of the Basel Blues Festival 2027. Thursday evening will bring two acts to the stage, namely the winner of the Swiss Blues Challenge 2025, the charismatic British singer Eve Gallagher, followed by the winner of the Swiss Blues Challenge 2024, Mark Slate & Rotosphere. Gracing the stage on Friday night will be the young Ronny Rast, considered the new discovery of the Swiss blues scene, followed by the “First Lady of Blues” in Switzerland, Manu Hartmann and her band. The double-header on Saturday night will include Argentinian singer and guitarist Vanesa Harbek—known as the “Queen of Latin Blues”—and the legendary drummer and percussionist Cosimo Lampis, who will be returning to the Atlantis to celebrate his 80th birthday. The Blues Festival Basel will conclude on this evening with a unique jam session—a musical celebration when the great artists of the evening come together on the stage to show the audience what blues is all about.
