Riehen was bought by Basel 500 years ago. Since then, the two communities have been closely connected and have shaped their future together. This long and trusted partnership will be duly celebrated in 2022. The highlight of the celebrations is the 500 JOOR ZÄMME festival, which transforms Bäumlihofstrasse on both sides of the border between Basel and Riehen into a place to celebrate, enjoy, and experience.
With 18 pubs, a 500 m-long table, interactive themed boxes, and a show stage with entertainment acts for every taste, the city of Basel and the municipality of Riehen invite you a three-day festival filled with concerts, culinary delights, and attractions for young and old and every taste. Acts such as Nicole Bernegger, Skip, Schwellheim, Klischée, Disco Experience featuring Roli Frei, SULP, Seraina Clark, Weird Fishes, Improvisante, the Bäumlihof Gymnasium Choir and Big Bäumli Band, and many others offer a musical firework display. The Jugendzirkus Basilisk will also perform on the festival grounds. Young guests are entertained at the children's village at the Drei Linden school building where they can play, do crafts, have their face painted, and much more
A commemorative badge created especially for the anniversary can be purchased for CHF 10 at the customer center of the municipal administration and in various shops in Riehen.
