Aktiv! mit Vereinen — Jugger

Schützenmattpark
19:00-20:00

“Aktiv! mit Vereinen” (Active with Clubs) is a summer program offered by Gsünder Basel (Healthier Basel), a nonprofit organization dedicated to the promotion of good health for people in the Basel area. This open-air offer is free to the interested public and is aimed at giving sports clubs the unique opportunity to present their passion to a broader audience and likewise for those interested in sports to be able to try out new sports and activities without obligation.
On this evening, you can discover Jugger with the club "Jugger Basilisken Basel” (https://www.jugger.ch/). Jugger is a team sport that combines elements from other sports such as fencing and rugby. The aim of each round is to place the game ball (jugg) in the opponent's goal (mark). While only one person in each team is allowed to touch the jugg, the other players (juggers) use padded fencing weapons and chains (pompfen) to prevent the opposing team from scoring. Anyone who is touched by a pompfe has to kneel for a penalty period and is not allowed to intervene in the game for a short time. You don't have to be athletic or fast to enjoy jugging. However, teamwork and fair play are essential.
Participation is free; no pre-registration is required.
