Americana, Folk & Country Made in Basel

Traveling across the pond to America and back to the MUKS courtyard in one evening? Pink Pedrazzi and The Urban Country Club make it possible!
The evening starts with one of Basel’s best-known troubadours. Pink Pedrazzi with his big black top hat has been making music for around 40 years with an outstanding voice, guitar, mandolin, ukulele, and wonderful songs—a piece of Americana. He has shaped the Swiss music scene with bands such as the Zodiacs, the Moondog Show, and the Voyageurs and has often been referred to as the Tom Petty from Basel. With his solo debut "A Calico Collection," the singer-songwriter pulled a real musical ace out of his sleeve in 2013 and doubled it in 2020/21 with the beautiful albums "The Island" and "Carry on." Lots of good music that you can listen to at home  but seeing the man with the big voice and the fine sense of humor live is something that Americana and folk fans shouldn't miss!
The Urban Country Club has only been around for seven years, but musically the quintet is on a much longer and equally beautiful and entertaining journey through time. Sabine Schädler (vocals, banjo), Felix Hohl (vocals, guitar), Basil Erny (bass), Michel Chalon (guitar) and Thomas Brunner (drums) love country, bluegrass, and folk music and play it as relaxed and authentic as if they were born with the sound. Everlasting pearls by Hank Williams, Gillian Welch, and The Secret Sisters are featured, as are country heroes John Prine, Johnny Cash, and of course, Dolly Parton.
The Markthalle Mobil will take care of the refreshments and the concert will be moved indoors in the museum in the event of bad weather.
Entrance is free but there will be a collection.
