American cartoonist Alison Bechdel has been writing and drawing autofictional and autobiographical comics for 40 years. From her first comic strips to her latest graphic novel “Spent,” this artist’s alter egos reflect both her personal development and societal changes at the same time.
Anette Gehrig, curator, and Cathia Engelbach, comics expert, talk with Bechdel about her journey as an artist.
