Probably the most traditional race in the Basel area, the annual run at Augusta Raurica is happening again for the 62nd time! Over the years, the race has become one of the most important running events in the canton, as well as in northwestern Switzerland, counting for years as the Swiss running championship. The running route leads from Augst via Feldhof–Schönthal–Liestal–Füllinsdorf–Giebenacherhöhe (highest point), and then back to Augst. There are 23 categories, ranging from young children (1.0 km), children (2.1 km), juniors, and Nordic walkers (5.5 km) to the full race of 12.0 km.
The cost to participate ranges from CHF 17–25, depending on category; you can register online (until November 7) or up to 1 hour before the start for an additional CHF 2/CHF 5.
