In their autumn session concerts in their event room, the Markthalle Basel presents indie music from a broad range of genres. From Americana, neo folk, and acoustic rock to jazz and experimental pop, they offer a platform in particular for artists from the region. International insider tips and up-and-coming Swiss bands also find a stage here.
Their first session this fall features the first-class musicians of The Highs and Lows! A violinist, a multi-instrumentalist, and a bassist create unique atmospheres together with singer-songwriter Arjan Vriezen. Vriezen writes lyrics about the inexpressibility of thoughts, the course of life, and the end of love relationships. His songs are congenially accompanied by folk-based music, whose dense atmosphere casts a spell over the audience.
Entrance is free but there will be a collection.
