Avi Avital & Omer Klein — Oriental Jazz Meets Classic
The new year 2024 starts with a highlight: The Israeli mandolin master Avi Avital, who is primarily active in classical areas and has made his instrument internationally popular, and his compatriot, the jazz pianist Omer Klein, will meet in the Martinskirche Basel for an enjoyable dialogue. They will present oriental chamber jazz of the virtuoso, catchy, spirited, and audience-appealing variety, with the arrangement of four movements from Johann Sebastian Bach's Partita No. 2 in D minor for solo violin, BWV 1004, as the central work. Both musicians use Bach's music as a starting point for a cross-genre concert full of passion and creativity. The program has already caused storms of enthusiasm in Vienna, Hamburg, Paris, London, Frankfurt, and New York.
Tickets are CHF 29.00-89.90.
