When in 2002 the line "Why'd you have to go and make things so complicated?!" played on radios around the world, the world took notice. Avril Lavigne, then just a teenager, hit like a bomb. The song immediately went to number one in numerous charts around the world and made the 18-year-old world famous almost overnight. The single went hand in hand with her debut album "Let Go," which also stormed the charts worldwide and marked the start of a quite spectacular career. At first, she let more albums follow every two to three years. They all sold extremely well and regularly made it into the top 5 in Switzerland. There were also more than half a dozen top 20 hits all over the world. With songs like "My Happy Ending," "Sk8r Boi," and "Girlfriend," she created an image as a princess of pop and skater punk and became the figurehead of an entire subculture with her dark eye shadow and her skater look.
She released her self-titled fifth album in 2013, which has sold half a million copies to date, but also marked a temporary musical hiatus. At that time, she contracted Lyme disease from a tick bite and also announced the separation from her husband Chad Kroeger from Nickelback. But the setbacks did not stop the singer-songwriter in the long term. In 2017 she got back to writing and finally released her sixth studio album, “Head Above Water,” which again made the top 10 in 10 countries.
Tickets are CHF 74.70-84.50.
