Ballet — Swan Lake
"Swan Lake,” probably the most popular ballet of all, has become the epitome of classical ballet thanks to the beauty of the music and dance—a timeless fairy tale about the struggle between good and evil, which shows that love is more powerful than evil in this world. With the double role of the white swan Odette and her evil counterpart, the black swan Odile, it includes of the most beautiful and demanding roles for a prima ballerina. With his musical score, Peter I. Tchaikovsky created not only a work of high artistic quality, but also a complete work of art in which the music is inextricably linked to the action and the choreography. His highly theatrical music psychologically aptly portrays the situations and characters. Tchaikovsky created a "symphonic ballet" whose immortal melodies are among the masterpieces of classical music literature.
This production will be performed by the Kyiv Grand Ballet.
