The motto of this concert evening at the Baloise Session is "Burning Guitars." It features two of today's most highly regarded guitarist and singer-songwriters! St. Vincent and Gary Clark Jr. represent and embody two very different yet equally vital facets of modern music. For a young Annie Clark, aka St. Vincent, it was the hard rock of her formative years that inspired her to create her own 6-string pyrotechnics, while for Gary Clark Jr., it was the sublime ache of the blues that set him on the path to becoming a renowned guitarist. While the two Clark's acclaimed catalogs are audibly worlds apart, signatures of their sounds have much in common: simultaneously abrasive and vulnerable, virtuosic and minimalist, loud and quiet. Featuring a unique set from each of these modern day sonic titans, St. Vincent and Gary Clark Jr. edition of "Burning Guitars" promises to be nothing short of a musical feast.
