Barany / Supporting Act Hilke

Parterre One
Wednesday, 29 November
20:30

A dark, melodious cloud envelops the senses after the last note of Barany's brand new album "Nanztal" has faded away. International collaborations have resulted in 10 sophisticated songs about loneliness, home, and reorientation. Memories of Portishead and Radiohead come to mind, but the tracks are unmistakably original. The extravagant songwriting spans long harmonious arcs and follows intricate plots and fills your chest with liveliness and authenticity. Whether foggy and fragile, or unexpected and explosive—Barany always has another ace up their sleeve. Either way, you can easily get lost in “Nanztal.”
Hilke is a former member of the Belgian dream pop band Amatorski and has released several electronic tracks under the alias Hroski. Now she shows herself in complete honesty with her own name, Hilke. During the creative process, Hilke sought her own voice, somewhere on the spectrum between male and female. After starting her solo project, she once again realized the important role singing has as an emotional force. That's why she wanted to write songs in which the voice plays a central role: She began looking for her very own singing style, which needed to be in harmony with her "gender identity."
Tickets are CHF 25 in advance or CHF 30 at the door.
