This multicultural band mixes traditional music from all corners of the Mediterranean, combining traditional Klezmer and Gipsy influences with the Barcelona lifestyle, Latin American melodies, Catalan elements, jazz, and rockabilly. The result, especially live on a concert stage, is explosive!
For the virtuoso musicians, “Balkan music” means a whole range of musical traditions that were and are carried from multi-ethnic cultures beyond geographical borders. Barcelona Gipsy balKan Orchestra (BGKO) is an international musical ensemble based in Barcelona that stimulates the interest of European audiences through its authentic reinterpretation of traditional music from the Balkans, the Middle East, and the Mediterranean.
