Basel Irish Night — A Time for Hope
On this evening, Basel Irish Club classic and contemporary Irish literature exploring themes of seeking, yearning, and undying hope. They will offer new interpretations of Irish literature through readings, music, and song. Offering insights into time, place, and emotions, works include Samuel Beckett’s “Waiting for Godot,” realism from the poets Paula Meehan & Eithne Strong, plus thought-provoking pieces by Seamus Heaney and Patrick Kavanagh. In addition to the readings, “Raglan Road” will be sung by Andy Murphy from Theater Basel, accompanied by Catherine Rhatigan on Irish harp.
