The 2nd Basler Chornacht (Basel Choir Night) will take place on this Saturday, when 34 choirs make the city of Basel sing and make the diversity of the Basel choir scene audible and visible. In addition to the evening concerts in downtown churches there is singing in public places in the afternoon (Theaterplatz, Presser/Gerbergasse, Spalenberg, Rümelinsplatz, Andreasplatz) and an opera gala in the evening in cooperation with the Organ Festival in the Stadtcasino.
Sixteen of the 34 choirs start the choir night in the afternoon and sing in public places. Each concert lasts 30 minutes, after which there is a 15-minute break where you can change locations. Note that in the event of bad weather, all choirs will sing in the public foyer of the Theater Basel.
In the evening, three choirs sing for 75 minutes per concert block at each of the eight concert venues. There are two concert blocks with a 45-minute break in between, to give you the opportunity to change venues if you like. It is also possible to visit only one concert block. There will also be an Opera Gala in conjunction with the Organ Festival at the Stadtcasino. Tickets are required for all of these evening concerts.

For adults, tickets are CHF 20 for one evening concert block, CHF 30 for a Chornacht pass (for both 1st and 2nd blocks), CHF 30 for the Opera Gala, and CHF 40 for the Opera Gala Pass (1st block Chornacht and Opera Gala); discounts for youths and students under age 30.
