This yearly event is a very special book fair that takes place on the MS Christoph Merian boat that is docked at Schifflände. It houses all kinds of books for kids and youths of all ages in many different languages. Each year, thousands of children, adolescents, their parents, school classes, and teachers—essentially anyone interested in children’s literature—visit the ship to leaf through the books on hand and discover new reading material.
Experts have selected around 1,500 new picture, children's, and youth books for this purpose. Alongside the book fair, there are numerous events on the special topic "Tierisch gut!” (Beastly Good!) for children and their families.
