The 54th Internationale Basler Mineralientage are all about minerals, fossils, jewelry, accessories, and related equipment. The event is aimed at collectors and traders, as well as the simply curious. This year’s edition will include a special presentation of Suiseki, where Moyogi (Bonsai Club Basel) shows stone presentations according to Japanese philosophy and aesthetics. There will also be an Alpine Corner, where prospecting friends show their best and most beautiful crystals and unique minerals that originated primarily from the Swiss Alps. These are not for sale and therefore are rarely seen at mineral fairs or in public. Visitors can also expect a varied children’s program, and refreshments will be provided by the Basler Frauenjodlerchörli (women’s yodeling choir).
Entrance costs CHF 10 for adults, CHF 5 for youths ages 10-18, and free for kids under age 10; two-day tickets are CHF 15.
