Bennewitz Quartett (Prague)

The ensemble, founded in Prague in 1998 and named after the eminent Czech violinist and pedagogue Antonín Bennewitz (1833-1926), received part of its training in Basel with Walter Levin. They studied here from 2004-2006 and later taught here as "quartet in residence." The Bennewitz Quartet regularly performs on major European and American concert stages and as guests at international festivals.
On this evening, they will be performing Joseph Haydn’s String Quartet No. 29 in G major, op. 17, No. 5; Hans Krása’s Theme With Variations for string quartet; Viktor Ullmann’s String Quartet No. 3, op. 46; and Antonín Dvorák’s String Quartet No. 11 in C major, op. 61.
Tickets are CHF 38-68 for adults, CHF 28-58 for students, and CHF 5 for youths under age 20.
