If your child is thinking about doing an apprenticeship in one of the many well-respected trades in Switzerland, here is an opportunity to learn what is available starting in summer 2026. The Berufsschau (Apprenticeship Fair) is a platform that allows direct contact between apprenticeship seekers and vocational trainers. On an exhibition area of several thousand square meters, you can find out about almost all professions that can be learned in the canton of Baselland at the 2025 career show that will be held at the St. Jakobshalle. Experts and apprentices will be happy to provide you with information on around 200 different professions. Applicants can meet with company representatives and discuss what is being offered by the respective companies and make arrangements for future interviews, trial weeks, and/or other next steps. After this initial contact, the individual recruiting process with the respective training company can begin; no apprenticeships will be granted on the spot.
This fair is open to all and welcomes students considering Swiss vocational training and their parents. While you are welcome to just come to be inspired, prospective students are encouraged to come prepared to the event. Visit their website to get step-by-step instructions on how to best do this.
