Biréli Lagrène — Wawau Adler Trio

This program will present Django Reinhardt's style and more modern pieces. Since Biréli Lagrène and Wawau Adler are very good friends, it will be interesting to see what's going on musically on stage! The styles of the two guitarists differ in their own ideas and diversity. Together with Joel Locher on bass, the three musicians will come together for the first time live on stage.
Lagrène is considered the “devil hero of the guitar.” The exceptional French guitarist is the king among jazz guitarists and has played with all the greats of his genre from Al Di Meola to John McLaughlin and from Paco de Lucía to Larry Coryell.
Adler is internationally recognized as a top-class gypsy jazz guitarist. Born Josef Adler in Karlsruhe in 1967, he discovered the guitar at age 9 and gave his first concerts at age 13. He initially devoted himself intensively to jazz manouche or gypsy swing, the first jazz style to emerge in Europe.
Locher is an exceptional bassist and musician; he knows no limits on the bass. He played and toured with Scott Hamilton, Alex Riel, Gerd Dudek, Pee Wee Ellis, Harry Allen, Peter Fessler, Marian Petrescu, Charly Antolini, Stochelo Rosenberg, and Shihiro Yamanaka among others.
