“Clapton/Knopfler/J.J.Cale — Guitar Explosion” is the name of the latest and first solo project by the well-known Bernese guitarist Chrigu Blaser. The repertoire will consist exclusively of songs by Eric Clapton, Dire Straits, and the picking pioneer J.J. Cale from Tulsa, Oklahoma—timeless and groovy classics that have delighted millions of listeners and continue to do so. The one-and-a-half to two-hour concert is divided into roughly three parts and includes the “Eric Clapton slowhand show,” the J.J. Cale & Jerry Reed “Country special,” and finally, “The incredible guitar sound of Mark Knopfler.” The songs in the repertoire have been carefully and excitingly selected. “Tears in Heaven” is deliberately omitted, but the epic finale of “Telegraph Road” is not missing. The audience can look forward to a strong band that convinces with virtuosity and passion.
