Celebrating 20 Years — Andreas Schaerer ‘Hildegard lernt Fliegen’

Hildegard learns to surf. Hildegard is not a band, but a storm. And after the storm? The calm, the famous one. It lasted several years, that calm. From storm to wave to whitecap to new shores in unimagined depths. The new old Hildegard is wiser. Modesty never suited her, determination was always excellent, but questions did arise, for example, on their album The Waves Are Rising, Dear!” Shall we make ourselves comfortable on the sofa in the nuclear bunker with Super8 and candy floss or shall we go outside and see what the wind brings? Shall we ride the wave or shall we be carried away by madness? From China to Gauting, via Wuppertal to the Urals—after 20 years of traveling around the world, the band lets their old wigs slide into the wake and looks out over the water. They fold paper boats out of the old scores and let them dance on the waves. Hildegard today is liquid lava, floating in dark waters. Andreas Schaerer has revived what is probably the most spectacular band in Switzerland in connection with the 20-year. Look forward to the "Sturm Hildegard" in the Volkshaus.
