Chamber Concert — Und Immer Siegt die Liebe (And Love Always Wins)
Of course, there’s always a happy end. But the worlds that are created beforehand are outrageous. Così fan tutte (Everybody does it like this)? No, only Mozart.
On this evening, the Kammeorchester Basel will be playing Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s “Così fan tutte,” KV 588, in a semi-staged performance. Mozart presents a breathless play where both men and women use the first opportunity to be unfaithful, a game of appearance and reality, of deception and intrigue. The music plays a critical role: it comments, counteracts, flatters, agitates, plots, and insists. That’s why the story cannot be convoluted enough—Mozart’s music drives it extraordinary heights, where tears form, the breath is taken away, and true happiness sprouts.
Tickets are CHF 38-105 for adults and CHF 19-53 for students.
