Saturday, 16 March
11:00-12:10 & 14:00-15:10

The carpenter Master Eder is busy in his workshop when a mysterious captain's chest is brought to him for repair. Without knowing it, a small, tousled, and usually invisible guest moves in with the old chest—Pumuckl. The cheeky Klabautermann (friendly kobold) immediately feels at home in the carpenter's workshop, plays lots of practical jokes, and talks incessantly. And Master Eder just wants to be left alone! Completely overwhelmed by the new situation, he asks his astonished sister for parenting tips without mentioning Pumuckl. Shortly afterwards, his niece also observes him talking to the kobold, who is invisible to her. What's wrong with Master Eder? And as if the chaos wasn't big enough, his friend Bernbacher wants his captain's chest back. But Pumuckl doesn't want to give up the chest. Now Master Eder has to come up with something very special. Will the two of them manage to keep the chest and will Master Eder be declared crazy?
With an amusing story, thrilling actors, and moving songs, Matthias Keilich stages great fun for the whole family, based on the popular “Pumuckl” stories by Ellis Kaut. The red-haired kobold is on a big tour throughout German-speaking Switzerland, with one stop in Basel for two presentations on this day. This family-musical will be performed in Swiss German, lasts 70 minutes without a break, and is recommended for families with kids ages 5 and up.
Tickets are CHF 37 for adults, CHF 29 for children, or CHF 29 / CHF 23 for holders of the Coop Hello Family Card.
