With its tent, the Kulturpalast, Cie Roikkuva is returning to the original idea of the traveling circus. A circus tent with a sawdust ring, closely enclosed by the steep grandstand, in close proximity to the artists and with a unique atmosphere—this is modern circus in miniature.
The ensemble, consisting of four artists, perform all the tasks themselves from clowning, tightrope walking, aerial acrobatics, and juggling to making live music, carrying, setting up, and tending the bar. They bring the powerful characteristics and images of the circus to life—close, direct, funny, spectacular, and sadly beautiful.
Their current show "Empire of Fools" is a contemporary circus piece and is characterized by a lot of wit and charm and at the same time pays homage to the classical circus; recommended for age 8 and up. The show lasts about 90 minutes.
Tickets are CHF 36 for adults and CHF 23 for kids up to age 16.
