Cirque du Soleil — Corteo
Over the course of four days, there will be six performances of Cirque du Soleil's breathtaking arena production “Corteo” at the Hallenstadion in Zürich. Directed by the talented Ticino native Daniele Finzi Pasca, “Corteo” was first performed in Montreal in April 2005. Since then, the show has enchanted over 10 million viewers in 20 countries on four continents.
“Corteo,” which means parade in Italian, tells the story of a clown who imagines his own funeral as a joyful carnival celebration, watched over by compassionate angels. This show combines the passion of acting with the grace and power of acrobatics. The audience is transported into a theatrical world of fun, comedy and spontaneity—to a mysterious place between heaven and earth.
The show highlights the clown's strength and fragility, as well as his wisdom and kindness, presenting the complexity that lies within all of us. The music, sometimes lyrical, sometimes playful, carries “Corteo” through a timeless celebration in which illusion outwits reality. The unique production places the stage exactly in the middle of the arena, creating a special perspective. The Eiffel Tower-inspired, partially hand-painted curtains create a grandiose atmosphere and underline the poetry of “Corteo”—an ambience never before experienced in a Cirque du Soleil arena production.
Tickets are CHF 92.50-222.50 for adults and CHF 82.40-192.50 for kids up to age 12. Family packs for four family members are available in categories 1-4 at the price of children’s tickets.
