During the magical period between Christmas and New Year, this new festival called “Classic Stars A Capella” will bring heartwarming a capella singing to Basel for three days to enchant your soul during the longest evenings of the year. On each day there will be two or more sets of music.
The Freiburg Jazz Choir puts sacred music in a whole new light and opens up new levels of choral music through an original approach. Inspired by joint projects and concerts with Bobby McFerrin, the New York Voices, Torun Eriksen, and many more, new arrangements were created for the choir, pure and a cappella, with only voices and a mouth drum. Songs from all over the world in the spirit of Christmas are about light and darkness, joy of life and love, many of them arranged by Bertrand Gröger and some originals by Leonard Bernstein and Felix Mendelssohn. This choir concert will conclude with an open sing-along.
Tickets are CHF 30 for adults and CHF 15 for students and youths up to age 18. Day tickets that include the other concert on this day are also available.
