During the magical period between Christmas and New Year, this new festival called “Classic Stars A Capella” will bring heartwarming a capella singing to Basel for three days to enchant your soul during the longest evenings of the year. On each day there will be two or more sets of music.
In this concert, the Tenebrae Choir, under the direction of award-wining conductor Nigel Short, will be singing works by Bach and MacMillan. Passion and precision are presented in a contrasting program with Bach's iconic motets and sacred music by the British composer Sir James MacMillan—touching music based on texts by Henry Vaughan.
Tickets are CHF 29-59 for adults and half price for students and youths up to age 18. Day tickets that include the other concert on this day are also available.
