The stars shine brightly at the Klassik Sterne Rheinfelden concert series, launched by the Hochrhein Music Festival. Since the 2010/11 season, artistic director Sol Gabetta and cultural manager Christoph Müller have been bringing top-class classical music stars to Rheinfelden to offer audiences a broad and diverse program.
On this evening, the program will linguistically and culturally span a broad and fascinating range, from English lute music to Spanish villancicos and Italian cantatas and madrigals—a reflection of the close interweaving of European musical cultures in the 16th and 17th centuries, performed by soprano Núria Rial with her delicate, clear voice and soft, vibrant timbre. Virtuoso instrumental pieces, including Ortiz's "Recercada quinta" and de Murcia's rhythmically captivating "Fandango," contrast with the artful diminutions of Bassano and de Rores.
Tickets are CHF 49-79 for adults and half-price for youths up to age 18 and students.
