On this night at the Parterre One, the audience will be treated to two awesome back-to-back indie bands—Cloudride and Superdark.
Founded in 2001 in the outskirts of Basel, the rock band Cloudride have blossomed into a permanent insider tip in the Basel music scene. The band is based on role models from the British and American independent scene and strives to remain independent. They have toured Europe and won a funding competition. Their secret? Music that touches you but can also be loud and show a lot of commitment.
Superdark likes to describe their music as psychedelic indie rock—a combination of different facets of rock music drawing from various influences. Instead of sticking to a fixed formula, they aim for the fertile ground between different genres yet strive to maintain a sense of coherence in their music that makes it recognizable as their own. They like to think that this is why the songs they create in their practice room in the heart of Zürich seem to appeal to a wide range of listeners. Their upcoming track “Yada Yada” was nominated for “Best Demotape Rock” at the M4Music Festival in 2021. It will be part of their second album, which they are currently recording at Alterna Studios in Basel after a successful crowdfunding campaign.
