In Ukraine, there has been a marked upturn in the production of comics since 2022. These combine the search for artistic expression in an extreme situation with journalistic documentary concerns and often serve as a platform for societal self-understanding, as well as for communication beyond the country’s borders. This exhibition, which is organized under the motto "Abroad! Cartoonmuseum Basel at Dreispitz," is a cooperation between the Cartoonmuseum Basel, the University of Basel, Atelier Mondial, and the FHNW Academy of Art and Design. It is accompanied by artist talks and workshops.
