Compagnia Nuova — La Traviata
The Compagnia Nuova is making two guest appearances in Lörrach this season, with two important operas in the Italian genre. The still young ensemble from the German capital has set itself the task of putting great operas to the test and using strict reduction to put the essentials in the foreground. What does that look like? For one thing, the orchestra has to go. Instead, the musical director of the ensemble, Andrés Juncos, sits at the piano and pulls the strings from there. Secondly, the ensemble is shrunk to a handful of singers, which makes powerful choral numbers transparent and the actions on stage clearer.
With Giuseppe Verdi's "La Traviata," the Compagnia Nuova dares to perform one of the most famous operas of all. But you have never experienced the catchy melodies of the “Traviata” so close to the action, so simple, so pure, and so intimate as in this version.
Tickets are € 33-56 for adults and € 26.40-44.80 for students up to age 26.
