"Ballet Bar" is the meeting of five hip-hop virtuosos in a universe reminiscent of a New York jazz club. Circus, dance, pantomime, a touch of theater, and burlesque meet here. To the sound of a crackling old record player, the collective questions its relationship to music as a source of inspiration and poetry. On a journey that ranges from jazz to electro to classical, the dancers compete over the choice of records. They dance on the counter and carry out their battles across the dance floor. They turn on their heads and let the coat stand float away in waltz time. Dance, acrobatics, and acting mix to create a humorous and brilliant spectacle. A piece for 5 dancers, 1 record player, and 77 vinyls!
