Hailing from the Basel area, the seven-member band Conference offers their audience a wide stylistic range, lending their songs an unmistakable touch through their unique interpretations. They draw their musical essence from a vast repertoire of wonderful tunes, ranging from George Duke, The Crusaders, George Benson, Earth, Wind & Fire, Johnny "Guitar" Watson, Stevie Wonder, and Nils Landgren to Eddie Harris. Funk is their foundation, their very core. Soulful, jazzy vocals, sharp horn sections, pulsating grooves from drums and bass, rich guitar riffs, warm Hammond organ sounds, soaring pianos, and catchy solos—this is the world of Conference. Uncompromising funk tracks alternate with gentle ballads, earthy R&B numbers, refined jazz standards, and rousing soul numbers. Conference loves the polished groove of hand-picked musical gems. And so does their audience. For many years, the band has delighted audiences with a diverse program and infectious enthusiasm, offering a sonic experience with captivating grooves that are perfect for dancing. True to their motto: Jazz is the teacher, funk is the preacher! On this evening, they will be joined by special guests Sandra Marti-Pasqual and Georgette Stern (vocals).
