Since its founding in 1997 at the Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía in Madrid, the Quarteto Casals has established itself as one of the outstanding young string quartets and has quickly gained international recognition. It is named after the famous Catalan cellist Pau Casals. Performances have taken and continue to take the quartet to many countries in Europe and America and to the most important concert centers in London, Amsterdam, Berlin, and New York.
On this evening, the string quartet, accompanied by pianist Claudio Martinez Mehner, will play works by Johann Sebastian Bach, Sofia Gubaidulina, Joseph Haydn, and Robert Schumann.
Tickets are 38-68 for adults, CHF 28-58 for students, and CHF 5 for youths under age 20.
