Dance — Compagnie Käfig: Cartes Blanches
Mourad Merzouki came to dance through circus, martial arts, and hip-hop culture. In 1996, he created a piece called "Käfig," which eventually became the namesake of the dance company that Merzouki founded shortly afterwards. The troupe has been based in Créteil near Paris since 2009, but travels all over Europe to present their unique mix of urban dance and contemporary dance to an enthusiastic audience. "Cartes Blanches" was created in 2016 on the occasion of the 20th birthday of the Compagnie Käfig. Here, in the setting of a living room, Merzouki has ignited fireworks of joy in movement. Six exceptional dancers are symbolically handed a "carte blanche," which means they are given a completely free hand to work in their own way through the interplay with the music. There will be an introduction 45 minutes before the start of the event.
Tickets are € 37-55 for adults and € 12 for youths.
