Daniel Schnyder Septett

Daniel Schnyder & Strings plays the world between classical and jazz. Saxophonist and composer Schnyder has lived in New York City for years. His works with strings include productions for Lee Konitz, Abdullah Ibrahim, Franco Ambrosetti, and many others. Ethnic influences are also ever-present in Schnyder's music and playing.
The concert promises to be a virtuosic journey through today’s music, across borders, towards a music of integration. Composition, improvisation, jazz, and classical music merge and overlap in ever-changing textures. The young virtuoso Archos Quartet has already made several groundbreaking recordings on NAXOS. Bassist Raetus Flisch and drummer Toni Renold have been playing with Schnyder for years and know his music very well. In addition to original compositions by Schnyder, the band also plays works from Vivaldi to Ellington, but with a new, surprising context.
Tickets are CHF 50; reserve your tickets at tickets@jazzclubq4.ch.
