Delattre Dance Company — Frankenstein

Mary Shelley's famous novel "Frankenstein" has been an icon of horror films and pop culture for more than 200 years. Frenchman Stéphen Delattre, artistic director of his dance company, discovered the story of the man-made monster for ballet and combined classical ballet on pointe with elements of contemporary dance. The music composed for "Frankenstein" by Slovenian composer Milko Lazar supports the dramatic development of the characters, especially that of the monster.
There is something bestial and brutal about it, but also something very sensitive and deeply human. Delattre stays close to the novel, but he streamlines the topic to a compressed hour and a half. And in a furious spectacle he mixes group scenes with haunting solos and duets. The choreography revolves around broken humanity, otherness and loneliness, rejection and exclusion—topics that seem more relevant today than ever.
Tickets are € 29-49.
