Dr. Feelgood
Dr. Feelgood is still one of the world's most popular and exciting rhythm & blues live acts. The band was founded in 1971 by singer Lee Brilleaux and guitarist Wilko Johnson on Canvey Island in Essex and was soon completed by bassist John B. Sparks and drummer John Martin. Although the last remaining founding member passed away in 1994, Dr. Feelgood is now better than ever.
Dr. Feelgood is one of the few bands that enjoyed equal success during the British blues boom and the punk era. Like many other pub rock bands, they were mainly known for their live performances. With their live album “Stupidity,” released in 1976, Dr. Feelgood immediately reached number one in the English charts. It reflects the style of their raw and uncompromising performances. The band celebrated worldwide success with hit singles such as “Roxette,” “Back in the Night,” and “Milk and Alcohol.” The hit “See You Later Alligator” gave the group their first gold record. Dr. Feelgood's latest release is the DVD “Live in London” with footage and recordings from the “Lee Brilleaux Memorial” in 2005 as well as a collection of some of their most successful songs with a fresh twist.
Tickets are CHF 35 in advance or CHF 40 at the door.
