“Dream Catchers” Art Show

What is it to catch a dream? Every night as we sleep, we all conjure fleeting images that come to us in dreams and leave us like spirits melting into thin air. We try to pin them down, make them solid, give them shape before they dissolve again. This challenge to catch a dream has recently been taken on by eight artists working in the Basel area. The “Dream Catchers” exhibition collects their magnificent and multifaceted results. Captured in words, photographs, paintings, prints, sculptures, and collages, the dreamworld is made accessible using techniques as varied as the content of the dreams and the dreamers themselves. The eight presenting artists include Kim Vergil (Canada), Megan Rodgers (USA), Sara Sepulveda (Spain), Yann Couëdel (France), Louis Bisaillon (Canada), Magali Ploneis (France), Juliette Lepage Boisdron (France), and Martin Kammler (Germany). Balagan Arts is hosting this group exhibit at its intimate storefront gallery.
