With “Metallurgien,” Ensemble KlangLab and Peter Ablinger pick up on Ablinger's explorations from the 1990s. Instrumental sounds are projected onto reverberation plates and these projections are condensed in such a way that they seem to disappear in a moment of maximum presence. “Metallurgien” can be understood, among other things, as an attempt to make such moments of disappearance tangible, to arrest them. The composition works with various modules, each of which determines a specific constellation of voice, instrumental sounds, and resonances. These modules are sketched, for example, as brass chatter; car projections; trombone, seismographic; a Kyrie after Machaut; or whispers, harmonic.
Tickets are CHF 15-35 for adults and CHF 10 for members of Colourkey and children under age 12.
