532 Gallery Thomas Jaeckel is delighted to announce “Le Stagioni,” the first solo exhibition in Switzerland by acclaimed London-based artist Danny Rolph (*1967). The title draws inspiration from Antonio Vivaldi’s iconic violin concerti “Le Quattro Stagioni” (The Four Seasons), which have informed the emotive and celebratory nature of this series.
Over the past three years, Rolph has developed these works on his signature triplewall plastic sheets, translating his engagement with Vivaldi’s music into visual form. The resulting paintings reflect a dynamic interplay of color, geometry, and rhythm, creating immersive compositions that evoke both the energy and the contemplative qualities of the music. “Le Stagioni” offers audiences an opportunity to experience the intersection of music, color, and visual form, presenting Rolph’s ongoing exploration of the emotive and poetic potential of painting.
Rolph is celebrated for his imaginative approach to painting, producing spatially indulgent, pictorially rich works that inspire curiosity and wonder. His practice balances rigorous exploration with inventive experimentation, resulting in compositions that are both precise and expressive.
There will be an opening reception on October 16 from 17:30-20:30, with the artist in attendance. Regular gallery hours are Wednesday to Friday from 14:00-18:00 and Saturday from 11:00-16:00.
