An evil sorcerer has turned the beautiful young Princess Odette into a swan when she ventured too close to the shore of his lake. Near the lake there is an old castle where a beautiful princess lives with her son Siegfried. Prince Siegfried feels magically attracted to the beautiful swans in the lake. He has no idea that they are actually young girls who have all been transformed into swans by the evil sorcerer and who only take on human form for one hour at midnight. Prince Siegfried falls in love with Princess Odette and learns from her the secret of her transformation and that she can only be released from the magic through the love and loyalty of a man...
This is how the beautiful fairy tale of “Swan Lake” begins, the most beloved ballet classic by Pyotr Tchaikovsky that has become synonymous with ballet. In addition, the music for Swan Lake is one of the most beautiful ballet scores.
This special, beautiful version of this ballet classic has been created for all children ages 4-94 but is in no way childish! The loving performance is danced sophisticatedly and with great elegance by the renowned Prague Festival Ballet. Colorful costumes and an imaginative stage design promise to enchant every child's heart. The charismatic actor Ortwin Player, known from television, film, and theater, takes on the role of the narrator. Catchy little poems full of humor, charm, and love captivate young and old alike.
