The Basel-based figuretheater fäderliicht presents the story of “Jack und die Zauberbohnen” (Jack and the Beanstalk) at the Basler Marionetten Theater. Jack and his mother live in great poverty on a farm. They only have one cow called Milky White. When it stops giving milk, Jack's mother sends him to the market to sell the cow. Instead, he exchanges it for five magic beans that a cunning little man offers him. These beans actually grow into the sky overnight. Jack climbs up them and ends up in the realm of the giant and his wife. Jack has to pass three adventurous tests against him in order to be freed from poverty forever with his mother. This theater with hand puppets is ideally suited for families with kids starting at age 4.
Tickets are CHF 20 for adults and CHF 15 for kids.
