Singer and actress from Mali, Fatou mata Diawara has become one of the most important voices in contemporary Africa. She has participated in many recent musical collaborations alongside Matthieu Chedid, Damon Albarn, Jamie Hewlett, Gorillaz, and you could discover her in the Franco-Mauritanian film with multiple César awards, “Timbuktu.” Imbued with political and social demands, her new album “Fenfo” subtly borders on Afro-pop, funk, and even the blues. Malian ancestral percussions and the kora rub shoulders with more modern and Western sounds for a generous and shimmering concert.
Fatou mata Diawara is a multi-faceted artist who thrives on encounters and crossbreeding of cultures. By singing in Bambara, one of the national languages of Mali, she becomes the ambassador of an Africa proud of its roots and which is building a better future.
Tickets are € 6-28.
