Basel’s festival for fine foods—the Feinfestival Basel—is the connoisseurs’ meeting place! Previously called the Basler Feinmesse, this is a gourmet fair for lovers of fine foods and spirits will take place during the last four days of the Weinmesse. At the Feinfestival Basel, you can immerse yourself in a fine selection of all kinds of delicacies and experience exquisite taste experiences that will pamper even the most demanding palate.
In the “Culinary” section you will find everything a gourmet could desire, from sweet treats and water delicacies to sausage and cheese specialties. Liqueurs, numerous gin variations, rums, whiskeys, and fruit brandies—lovers of hard liquors will find a wide selection of high-quality spirits in the “World of Spirits” section, most of which are presented by the producers themselves, but also by selected retailers.
The “Biergenuss” beer corner has been a crowd pleaser from the very beginning. Beer lovers can look forward to a variety of selected beer specialties, which are often only produced in small quantities and not found in conventional stores. Entrance to persons under age 18 is permitted only when accompanied by an adult!
The fair takes place in Halle 2 of Messe Basel, the same hall as the Weinfestival Basel. Opening hours are Thursday to Saturday from 15:00-21:00 (the “Biergenuss” beer corner and “World of Spirits” will be open until 22:00) and Sunday from 13:00-19:00.
Tickets cost CHF 20 at the door (CHF 15 if purchased online) and are also valid for a visit to the Weinfestival Basel on the same day. The season ticket for CHF 27 (online) or CHF 35 (at the door) includes entry to all days of the wine and fine festival, so if you plan to visit more than once, you may want to consider this option.
