Film Screening — Fashion Reimagined

Impact Hub Basel
Thursday, 18 April
17:45-21:00

This 100-minute documentary, directed by Becky Hutner, showcases the journey of fashion industry disrupter Amy Powney of Mother of Pearl to create a sustainable collection from field to finished product, and to confront audiences to challenge the way we consume fashion. Raised off-the-grid in rural England by activist parents, Powney has always felt uneasy about the devastating environmental impact of her industry. When she wins the coveted Vogue award for the Best Young Designer of the Year, she decides to use the money to create a sustainable collection from field to finished garment and transform her entire business. Over the following three years, her own personal revolution becomes the precursor of a much bigger, societal change.
The evening, which is organized by ReGen Basel, will conclude with a light Apéro and a discussion, to connect and collaborate on a topic that impacts us all. ReGen Basel—Building a Regenerative Community—is a collaborative series between Impact Hub Basel, reVyven, and Beth Durent Circularity. ReGen Basel's purpose is to raise awareness about the environmental impact of consumer products and systems by creating a forum for local networks to connect, collaborate, and take action to contribute toward the transition of Basel to a more regenerative system. Note that your ReGen Basel ticket includes a Day Pass to cowork at the Impact Hub Basel and connect with a network of impact-driven organizations and individuals!
Tickets are CHF 20.
