FireEvening “ESC Special”

St. Pauluskirche
Thursday, 15 May
18:00-19:30

The Basel Madrigalisten, the most traditional professional vocal ensemble in Switzerland, will be presenting a witty classical Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) performance!
The first ESC took place in Switzerland in 1956. So, it's high time for another Swiss premiere—the Classical Eurovision Song Contest! Which song would have won the competition in the 18th or 19th century? For the first time in the history of the renowned song contest, Bach, Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, and the like are vying for the coveted first place, handing out ESC points to their competitors, either appreciatively or disapprovingly,
This humorous spectacle by the Basel Madrigalists features the most popular classical music highlights of all time and a live broadcast to Paradise, hosted by none other than the outstanding voice impersonator David Bröckelmann. Stick around after the concert and enjoy a lively exchange at the subsequent apéro.
Tickets are CHF 30 for adults and CHF 20 for youths and students.
