Flâneur Festival
This summer, the urban-space festival called “Flâneur” wants to meet the contemporary needs of society and permanently shape the future-oriented image of Basel as a creative, sustainable, and diverse city. They want to incite change and attract a new, young, and urban audience by offering special city experiences in the city center of Basel, with attractive urban space objects. The festival revitalizes the city center of Basel with attractive urban space objects and special city experiences.
The festival will present Basel's diversity over three days of concentrated activities in a small space—in a temporarily created pedestrian zone on Elisabethenstrasse that brings together everything that makes the city special. On these evenings, the festival area will be transformed into an adventure site for young and old with a spirit of discovery, enjoyment and a thirst for action. Workshops, live music, clever concepts, exciting ideas, friendly faces, and a wonderful culinary variety—the best of Basel will come together at this year's Flâneur Festival and invite you to meet, exchange ideas and enjoy culinary delights. The Flâneur Festival inspires with an exciting and unique variety of local brands and manufacturers, craft businesses, gastronomy offers, interactive workshops, and experiences from culture, enjoyment, and lifestyle. The diversity of the city is presented during these three days in the form of pop-up corners, food corners, bars, mobile stages, newly created relaxation zones, and other surprising, innovative offers.
The event, which attracted around 84,000 visitors from Basel and the region last year, will take place again this year on Elisabethenstrasse, between De Wette Park and Bankverein.
