Francesco Loccisano Quartet

Kulturscheune Liestal
Saturday, 03 February
21:00

Francesco Loccisano has worked with many leading musicians over the years, including Eugenio Bennato, Mimmo Cavallaro, and Gianna Nannini. He was the first Italian musician to bring the chitarra battente (an Italian folk guitar that thumps the rhythm of the music) to the Sanremo Festival. Loccisano's innate talent and great passion for this instrument have, over time, led him to develop his own personal style of interpretation and performance. The chitarra battente not only becomes an accompanying instrument for singing, but also a solo instrument with its own character.
Percussionist Andrea Piccioni has blurred the boundaries of jazz, world music, and classical music with his style and has collaborated with numerous artists, including Bobby McFerrin, Paul McCandless, and Luciano Biondini. Piccioni plays with many renowned formations on concert stages all over the world. Loccisano and Piccioni are now on tour together for the first time in an unprecedented, explosive quartet.
Tickets are CHF 30 for adults and CHF 20 for students; available at the box office half an hour before the concert begins.
